Dr Vijay Tumuluri

Dr Vijay Tumuluri brings over 25 years of experience to his role as principal periodontist at Sydney Periodontists.

His journey as a periodontal specialist began at the University of Sydney, where he received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1995 and studied cell proliferation in oral cancer to complete his Master of Science. Dr Vijay also holds a Master of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, specialising in periodontics and implant dentistry.

Dr Vijay has a longstanding passion for learning and sharing his knowledge with the next generation of periodontists. He regularly teaches as a clinical senior lecturer at Charles Sturt University’s Orange campus, and advises postgraduate dentists working towards a Graduate Diploma of Dental Implantology at the University of Sydney.

As a member of several professional dental organisations, Dr Vijay is a recurring speaker at ITI events, sharing his expertise as a Sydney periodontist and his experience in implant dentistry with students and practitioners alike.

He’s keen to embrace technological advancements in modern dentistry and seeks new opportunities to improve his own research-backed practice for his patients. He’s open with his findings, publishing his own clinical research papers across both Australian and international journals.
